Support the Experience of a Lifetime!
Unfortunately, opportunities for exciting outdoor recreation are rare for individuals with cognitive disabilities. Wilderness Inquiry is working hard to change that, and we hope you will help us.
This year we will serve 500 individuals with cognitive disabilities on a variety of outdoor adventures through the Gateway to Adventure program. But we need your help.
- $50 will provide an introductory canoe workshop for an individual with a cognitive disability
- $100 will provide a personal care attendant or trip assistant to allow full participation in a canoe or kayk trip for a person with a cognitive disability
- $250 will provide a piece of adaptive equipment such as a rickshaw or adaptive canoe seat
- $500 will provide a five-day canoe trip in the Boundary Waters for an individual with a cognitive disability
Create Lasting Memories
Your contribution will make a big difference in the life of an individual with a cognitive disability. Linda, a young woman with a developmental disability wrote this to us after her trip:
“I liked the people and making new friends. Enjoyed being outside and doing activities I would not otherwise be able do to if it wasn’t for WI and the friendly/helpful staff.”
WI provides a variety of support services to allow full participation by people with disabilities, including adaptive equipment, personal care attendants, and sign language interpreters.
